CPIJ sends local reporters to ONA in San Francisco
The Center for Public Interest Journalism has chosen 22 local journalists to send to this year’s Online News Association conference in San Francisco, September 20-22.
The pool of applicants was large and impressive, and in choosing sponsorees, deference was given first to individuals who did not attend last year’s conference on a CPIJ sponsorship. The Center leadership also tried to choose individuals whose work most closely reflects the mission of CPIJ: increasing the capacity for in-depth, insightful journalism about public affairs in the Philadelphia region. That said, the Center was forced to leave on the table a number of applications which reflected just that.
