The Center for Public Interest Journalism has received a generous grant from the Wyncote Foundation to fund ten Philadelphia-area journalists to attend the 2012 Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference, in Boston, from June 14-17. Attendees will be selected through an open application process.
In order to be considered for a sponsorship, applicants must be working reporters or editors who demonstrate leadership in the public interest news and information community in the Greater Philadelphia area. Applicants must also become members of the Investigative Reporters and Editors organization (if they aren’t already), and be available to attend the entire three-day conference.
No more than one applicant will be accepted from each news organization in the area. Freelance reporters unaffiliated with an organization are welcome to apply.
For chosen applicants, the Center’s sponsorship will cover the costs of the conference, hotel, and travel. Chosen applicants must pay the $70 IRE membership fee.
If you would like to be considered for a CPIJ sponsorship to attend the conference, please apply below by Wednesday, May 23.
